EMERALD THIEVES BIOGRAPHY

HISTORY

Formed in Durham during 2005 the Emerald Thieves band incorporates musicians from Northern Ireland and North East England. A group of Glastonbury Festival loving musicians inspired by diverse musical backgrounds to create a unique sound which proved an instant hit in live music clubs around Newcastle and Sunderland. The band became favourites at weddings and corporate functions then progressed to headlining music festivals all around the UK.  Emerald Thieves now have thousands of shows under their belts and over the years have travelled extensively throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the Middle-East.

MUSIC - EQUIPMENT - SOUND

Emerald Thieves care a LOT about quality of sound. The band, all professional musicians with backgrounds in folk, rock, soul, pop, jazz and classical music, carry top-of-the-line instruments and amplification to every performance and are rounded off with a fully qualified sound engineer onboard.

The sound of each show is reinforced by high-end RCF Touring and Theatre speakers and an Allen & Heath SQ6 mixer. This system is compact enough for small, intimate shows and equally capable of filling large rooms for 500+ guests.

The musicians combine violin, acoustic/electric guitar, mandolin, ukulele, Hammond organ, piano, synthesiser, bass and drums to deliver an impressively diverse selection of acoustic & electric hits. As such, the music performed can incorporate singer-songwriter styles, Irish-folk, 1950s to modern rock, pop, country, soul & indie hits. Topping that off with a healthy selection of sing-along anthems leaves no doubt that Emerald Thieves are a natural choice for entertaining any audience.

Background music and personalised disco services can be added in support of any Emerald Thieves show. Professional DJ's can also be hired to work alongside the band.

Daytime music options are also available. If you're contemplating a solo musician, duo, trio or quartet to perform live music at your wedding ceremony or afternoon drinks reception just enquire for further details.

"A refreshingly honest band aimed at genuine music lovers. 100% live. No backing tracks, no cheating!'
