EMERALD THIEVES BIOGRAPHY
History
Formed in Durham during 2005 the Emerald Thieves band incorporates musicians from Northern Ireland and North East England. The group of fun-loving, Glastonbury Festival regulars made a unique sound which proved an instant hit on the live music circuit in Newcastle and Sunderland. Perfectly at home performing at weddings, clubs, festivals and private parties Emerald Thieves quickly notched up hundreds of bookings and became a successful North East export with a solid international reputation built upon numerous performances throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the Middle-East.
Style
With many years spent perfecting folk, rock, soul, pop, jazz and classical music sounds the band members combine electric fiddle, guitar, mandolin, ukelele, Hammond organ, piano, bass and drums to deliver an unbeatable selection of acoustic & electric hits which span singer-songwriter styles, Irish-folk, 1950s to modern rock, pop, soul & indie hits. Top that off with a healthy selection of 1970s classics and you are left in no doubt that Emerald Thieves are a natural choice for entertaining eclectic wedding audiences and corporate clients alike.
Guests will be amazed at Emerald Thieves ability to jump between authentic traditional Irish sounds, Mumford style folk and classic to modern era indie/rock/pop hits, delivering a variety of music usually only achievable by hiring multiple bands. Background music, professional DJ's and personalised disco services can be added to any Emerald Thieves booking.
"A refreshingly honest band aimed at genuine music lovers. 100% live. No miming, no backing tracks, no cheating!'
